Intersex people deserve their own choices.

Intersex children’s bodies are often changed with unnecessary genital surgeries—including to create a vagina, reduce a large clitoris, or remove testes—before the age of two. Not a single hospital in the United States has issued clear policy to delay these surgeries or help families fight stigma. We’ve worked with many of the world’s top human rights organizations, and all agree: surgeries to change diverse sex traits must be the individual’s choice.

interACT uses innovative legal and other strategies to advocate for the human rights of children born with natural differences in their genitals, chromosomes, hormones, and reproductive anatomy.
