interACT is pleased to announce the publication of “Normalizing Intersex” – a special edition of the Narrative Inquiry in Bioethics Journal published in partnership with the Voices project. This PDF version may be shared widely and includes a variety of important diverse intersex narratives speaking out about their experiences of oppression dealing with the medical community. interACT board and staff members were among the over twenty contributors to this work who share their authentic experiences.
A study guide for the publication and a podcast with the Symposium Editors were also created to aid in further dialogue. Special thanks to Co-Editors Georgiann Davis and Ellen Feder as well as Open Society Foundations for the grant making this possible.
“I was happy to tell my story, to share the truth and help bring long buried intersex narratives into the light…” – Karen Walsh, Voices Contributor and interACT Board Member.
