Today marks the beginning of the annual meeting of pediatric urologists, a medical speciality often tasked with caring for the health and well being of infants born with intersex traits. In recognition of the deeply harmful impact of medically unnecessary surgical interventions that continue to this day, despite over twenty years of advocacy by intersex adults, interACT invites SPU to take a stand in improving care for this vulnerable population by opposing medically unnecessary surgeries until the intersex person can participate in decision making.
